YOUNG BOYS READ MAFTIR ON SHABBAT ACROSS THE COMMUNITY

Have you been noticing young boys reading the maftir on Shabbat in shuls throughout the community? If you have, chances are they are students of Yeshivat Or Hatorah of Aram Soba. Under the direction of Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Yaakov S. Marcus and Principal Rabbi Eliezer Zeytouneh, the boys are taught to read with te’amim (cantillation notes) already in first grade. Under the tutelage of Rabbi Moshe Houllou, the third grade rabbi, these boys learn and master the art of te’amim, and are now applying their skills in shuls all over Brooklyn! These readers are: Albert Bassoul and Mordechai Zlita in Har Halebanon; Albert Mamrout and Adir Yacobof in Bnei Shelomo V' Yaffa; David Levy, Alex Levy and Eric Levy in Bet Yaacob; Yehoshua Lalehzari in Bet Shaul & Miriam; David Enakkab in SLC; and Nahum Ibrahim in Rabbi Yehuda ben Betaira.

Congratulations and hazak ubaruch (strength and blessing) to all the Or Hatorah boys for their wonderful accomplishments.
