KISSING BOO- BOOS REALLY HELPS

By: Dave Gordon

Kissing a boo-boo is more than just a cute way to distract and comfort your youngster– it’s actually been found to have health benefits. Kissing soothes the child, reduces stress, and calms hormones that contribute to inflammation. A study published in Molecular Psychiatry determined that kids with warm bonds with mom had fewer inflammations, which, over time, can take a toll on the body. The study also suggests that a warm, close relationship between mother and child  improves the child’s immunity. When a child or adult is stressed, and there is no source of comfort, the body and genes may fail to curb inflammation.
