Widening a teen’s circle of friends could raise his or her grade point average. A study out of Willamette University in Los Angeles explained that friends, particularly from the same school, can help motivate success and be there for support with homework. Cited in the Journal of Research on Adolescence, the study also notes the general mental and health benefit of having a large circle of friends.
