Teens who suffer from regular headaches could be causing it themselves – through the consumption of alcohol and/or caffeinated beverages. The study, published in the journal Headache, found that an estimated one in ten youths between the ages of 14 and 20 experience frequent migraines, and twice as many endure tension headaches. The migraines were more common among teens who drank coffee or alcohol and did not exercise.
