Besides getting enough zzzz’s, a consistent bedtime can also help kids excel in learning. Kids who have had regular bedtimes by age four scored higher on a number of aptitude tests, including literacy and math tests. Experts at the American Academy of Sleep Medicine also suggest that preschool children get at least 11 hours of sleep each night, noting lower average test scores among kids who receive less sleep.
