A daily nap of 45 minutes or more may help stressed-out people lower their blood pressure, lower anxiety and maintain heart health. The body and heart have an easier time recovering from stress activities after a nice nap, wrote the researchers in the International Journal of Behavioral Medicine. A nap is a pretty good idea, the researchers say, not least because on average, Americans get nearly two hours less sleep a night than they did in the 1960s, which they say could affect long-term health.
