Salute to the Graduates 2011

City officials have come up with a new way to crack down on motorists with delinquent parking tickets. In addition to towing and booting, the new measures call for suspending violators’ vehicle registration. The city recently sent letters to 13,000 motorists with at least five unpaid tickets in a year, who owe the city a combined $17 million for 130,000 tickets. The letters warned that the drivers would lose their vehicle registrations if the y refuse to pay, and could face misdemeanor charges, fines or jail time if caught driving without registration.
